Are you thinking about starting a football YouTube channel? Maybe you are thinking about starting a YouTube Channel for fantasy football tips. Decide Your Focus
Before you start making videos, you should start thinking about what you want to cover in your channel. Do you want to cover one team? Or do you want to cover something broader, such as the NFL or college football? Perhaps you want to cover college football recruiting. Maybe you want to discuss football fundamentals or tips for football coaches.
There are a lot of angles you can take. This is the fun part of the process where you get to make decisions regarding this.
You can also figure out the structure of your episodes. Do you want to do interviews? Do you want to talk the whole time or include clips? You can also decide if you want to do it by yourself or with a co-host or co-hosts.
Tools
In order to start a YouTube channel, you’ll need some of the same tools you’ll need to start a podcast, such as a microphone and pop filter. You can review our checklist for starting a podcast to see all those tools.

You could, of course, use your phone. If you do, you may want a selfie ring light with cell phone holder like one of these to help you with lighting.
But what if you want your videos to be more than just you talking? What if you want to edit in say football clips into your video? Then you’ll need video editing software.
Starting A Business
Once you start making videos, you could be getting a lot of views for your videos. And then you might want to start making money from your YouTube channel. This could be a wonderful side hustle for you. Or it could even become your full-time business!
You could make money by getting sponsors for your YouTube channel. Or you could try affiliate marketing.
If you do make money from your YouTube channel, you will need to start a business. You will need to check out your local laws regarding starting a business.
