Are you looking to do a website for an event, and you don’t have any experience coding or creating websites?  If you want a lot of customization to your website but you do not want to hire anyone to do your website and you don’t know coding, then I think you should choose WordPress.  You can read more information about getting started on WordPress here.

But if all you want is a simple event website, you don’t want to customize your website a lot and you basically just want a professional looking website that lets customers know about your event, then you should consider choosing Weebly.  Weebly has a great drop and drag option that allows you to design your own website without having any coding experience. Weebly has a lot of great event themes that you can choose from so your website will look beautiful and professional.

There are a lot of different plan options with Weebly, too.  You can even do a free option with Weebly, though one thing you should know about this is that you won’t be able to have a domain name that doesn’t have weebly in it.  Depending on your event, that may not be a problem for you, but it will seem more professional if your event has its own domain. For example, if you are running a Little Miss Phoenix Pageant, you may want a website where the domain is “littlemissphoenixpageant.com”; it’s easier for people to remember and can look good on fliers. But if you just want a one time website for an event where you don’t care if it looks professional or not, like say a yard sale or a website you’re making for a friend’s wedding, then you may not care.

Also, another consideration when choosing your Weebly Plan is whether or not you want to advertise your event.  If you want to advertise your event, then you should choose the Starter Plan. I would personally choose the Starter Plan because you get a $100 Google ads credit and if you’re going to want to advertise your event, using the $100 google credit is a great way for you to use Google ads.  Plus, the Starter Plan is only $8/month annually, which is less than $100/year, so it’s almost like you’re getting a free website with its own domain!  And certain events need advertising, like the Little Miss Phoenix Pageant example from before; you will need more registrations in order to make a profit, so the more people who know about the pageant, the better.

Another option you could consider, too, is the Weebly Pro Option.  This is a great option if you need a password protection option. I have done this before with Weebly and it worked great.  This would be a great option if you only wanted certain people to be able to view information, such as an event website for the previously mentioned pageant and you only wanted registered participants to be able to view certain parts of the website.  And finally, if you want people to be able to register on your website, then you could consider the Business option, which is the most expensive option but could be worth it.  That plan is a fully integrated aCommerce solution.  And the Pro and Business option also offer the $100 in google adwords, which is really great when you need to advertise an event.

But no matter which plan you choose to fit your needs, Weebly is a great choice for anyone wanting to make a simple event website without any coding knowledge.
