I think after everything we have been through over the past year or so, we really understand the importance of mental health.  There are so many people out there in desperate need of help.  And you could help them with a podcast.

But the question is, how do you start a podcast?  Today, I want to go over that.  I’ll go over the key things you need to get started.

Step #1: Decide If You Want To Make It A Business

Now, starting a mental health podcast is a great way to help people.  But it is a way to make money.

Doing a podcast can be time-consuming anyway, so it’s good if you can be compensated for your hard work.

But if you are going to make money, then you will need to take the right steps in doing this legally.  One way to do that is to start an LLC.  We go over the benefits of starting an LLC here.

Now, you may be wondering, how can I make it a business?  Will I be able to make money from my podcast?  And the answer is you can.  Click here to read all the ways you can make money from a podcast.

Step #2: Get All The Right Tools

Do you know how they say that carpenters are only as good as their tools?  Well, the same could be said for a podcaster!

There are tools you’ll need, some you may know of (like a microphone) and some you may not be aware of (like a pop filter – yeah, that is a thing).  And then there are digital tools you’ll need, like a podcast host.

We made a checklist for starting a podcast, which you can use to make sure you have all the right equipment.

Step #3: Get Started

And now it is time to get started!

Having your own podcast can be a lot of fun.  It can also be incredibly rewarding, especially since you are taking on a topic that is so incredibly important, especially these days.

So as long as you are protecting yourself legally if you want to make money from your podcast, and you have all the right tools, it’s time to get started with your own podcast!
