Should You Choose FastComet or GoDaddy for your web host?

It’s important to choose a good web host for your website, so I’m glad you’ve come here to get our comparison of GoDaddy and FastComet.  We’ll go through a comparison of their lowest priced plans (which is what most new or small businesses would use anyway), and then we’ll give you our choice of the winner.

How are the Plans alike?

Since I first wrote this blog six years ago, there were more differences. But since then, both FastComet and Go Daddy have really upped their game. Now there are a lot of things that both hosts offer to even the smallest of plans.

There are features that are included in all plans like:

  • Free SSL
  • Free Email
  • Unmetered bandwidth
  • Daily backups

Because they are the same, I did not include them in the comparison. The side by side comparison only includes features that are different.

Conclusion

Comparing these two plans was very interesting to me, because usually when I compare plans there are advantages and disadvantages with each plan. But here, FastComet really excels in almost every category.

Certainly, FastComet is the most affordable. The difference in price is quite staggering. The smallest plan available for GoDaddy is larger than the best plan for FastComet!

Then, there’s the number of websites. FastComet lets you have far more websites, which is great if you want to create multiple websites.

FastComet also has more available CPU cores for their websites.

The one area GoDaddy excels in the NVMe Storage. And NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) storage is certainly important. This affects your website’s speed and overall performance. The faster your site is, the better customer experience it is.

That not only helps you keep happy customers. But it also helps you in search engines. So it’s obviously very important.

But here’s the thing. The largest plan for FastComet does offer 40 GB for NVMe Storage. That is 15 more GB than the smallest plan for Go Daddy. And remember, the smallest plan for Go Daddy is cheaper than the largest plan for Fast Comet!

So if you are concerned about NVMe storage and you also want an affordable plan, then you can consider getting the Fast Comet Extra plan.

Which brings me to my winner, which at this point isn’t much of a mystery.

Winner
