Have you ever tried to figure out how to get the URL of a Facebook post?

There are times when you might want to link to a specific post (and not the Facebook page itself).

Unfortunately, it’s not very obvious how to find the URL of a particular post.

Fortunately, it’s pretty simple once you know how!

In this video tutorial, we’ll walk through the easy steps to getting that Facebook link. If you’d rather read through the steps, you can check out the transcription as well.

Steps for Getting a Facebook Post URL

Today we’re going to see how to get a link to a specific Facebook post. It’s a little weird, but once you see how it’s very easy.

So let’s say we want to get a link to this post about how to get more shares on Facebook.

We’re going to go to where it says March 19 and for any Facebook post, we just want to find the date. If it’s recent, it might say yesterday or it might have a date and the time. [If it’s very recent, it might say something like like 9 hrs or however many hours ago it was posted.] This [the example in the video] is a little bit older, so it just says March 19.

We’re going to click on it now. We’ve got just the post itself, not the whole page, just a specific post. We’re going to click and highlight that URL – that really long string. That’s okay. Don’t worry about it [the length].

We’re going to right click and copy. You can also do CTRL and C or whatever keyboard shortcut you have on whatever you’re using. And now we’ve copied the link, and we see if we open up a new tab and paste the link in, we get the post, and that’s all you have to do!
