Do you want to build your first app?  Whether you want to create an app business (such as a dating app) or create an app for your business (like a loyalty app for your customers), the great news is that you don’t have to spend years in computer science classes to do this; there are great app builders that allow you, with no previous experience, to create your own app!  Two of those app buiilders are Appy Pie and GoodBarber and today, I’m going to compare the two to help you decide which app builder you should go with to create your first app.

Pricing

Appy Pie is much more affordable than Goodbarber.  Just take a look at the plans offered by each and how expensive each are.

Appy Pie:

Free Version (I really would not recommend this version, though, because you can’t really do anything with it)

Basic: $18/month on monthly plan, $15/month when billed annually

Gold:$36/month on monthly plan, $30/month when billed annually

Platinum: $60/month on monthly plan, $50/month when billed annually

GoodBarber:

Android Standard: $40/month on monthly plan, $32/month when billed annually

Android Full: $60/month on monthly plan, $48/month when billed annually

IOS Premium: $115/month on monthly plan, $96/month when billed annually

Native Reseller: $240/month on monthly plan, $200/month when billed annually

As you can see the prices for GoodBarber are way higher; their second lowest plan is about the same price as the highest plan for Appy Pie.

Distribution

Once again, Appy Pie really smokes the competition here.  When you have an app, you ideally want the app to at least be available for both Android and IOS phones.  But Appy Pie takes it even further.  But this is not the case for GoodBarber.  Just see the app distribution for each app builder:

Appy Pie:

Free: None

Basic: Google Play Store & PWA Store

Gold: Apple App Store, Google Play Store & PWA Store

Platinum: Amazon Kindle Store, Windows App Store, Blackberry App World, Apple App Store, Google Play Store & PWA Store

GoodBarber:

Android Standard: Google Play Store

Android Full: Google Play Store

IOS Premium: Apple App Store & Google Play Store

Native Reseller: Apple App Store & Google Play Store

Winner: Appy Pie

Customer Service

If you have a problem with your app and you need to contact Appypie right away, you can call them but Goodbarber only has a contact form option.

Disk Space/Bandwidth/Visitors Allowed

Here is one area where Goodbarber does succeed.  Apps with Goodbarber can have unlimited traffic and each app gets 50 Gigas of storage.  Appy Pie, on the other hand, has bandwidth limits:  2 GB for the free plan, 4 GB for the basic plan, 8 GB for the gold plan and 12 GB for the Platinum Plan.  Additionally, there are disk space limits for Appy Pies: 100 MB for the free plan, 200 MB for the basic plan, 400 MB for the gold plan and 600 MB for the platinum plan.  So that is the way you can justify the price of Goodbarber.

Winner: Goodbarber

Conclusion

I don’t love the disk space and bandwidth limitations of Appy Pie, but Appy Pie is still to me the hands down winner.  Because if you are starting a new app then I don’t think disk space and bandwidth limitations will matter, and the cost of Appy Pie is so much less.  And when you add in the fast that your app will be distributed on so many different platforms, it to me makes going with Appy Pie the best choice.
